Me My Moths

Me My HeadSince discovering them last year, I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen that The Moths! are going to be big. Well, let me be the first to tell you that they’re not. The Moths! are no more.

It was always a bit of a push to suggest that simply adding an exclamation mark to their moniker distinguished them from the other London band of the same name. So, when frontman James Fox parted company with the group last year, they decided to make the necessary change and have now become Me My Head.

I must admit, when I heard that Fox was gone, I did think that might be the end for me. He was a great frontman and key songwriter for the band. But newcomer Charlie Moss does a great job on songs both new and old. It helps that his voice bears a resemblance to that of his predecessor, but he also has definite charms of his own.

So, with their pop-noir mix of Joy Division and The Killers intact, the band are now working with on their debut album with Embrace guitarist Richard McNamara producing, which sounds like a recipe for a hit to me.
